William Columbus Needham

     William Columbus Needham was born on 11 April 1878 in Springfield, Missouri.^1,2 He was the son of John M. Needham and Matilda Dodson.¹ William Columbus Needham also went by the name of Willie.¹ He married Bertie Dugan.¹ William Columbus Needham married Callie Hastings on 7 August 1954 in Amarillo, Texas.¹ William lived in Texas for 33 years.¹ William Columbus Needham was a farmer.¹ He was a member of the Baptist church. He died on 22 June 1964 in Wellington, Collingsworth Co., Texas, at age 86.¹ He was buried in Frankfort Cemetery, Carrollton, Collin Co., Texas, near Dallas.¹ Hazel's notes make reference to a granddaughter by the name of Zoelee Needham who married David Cooper, who had a son named Carl Cooper. William's obituary makes reference to a granddaughter by the name of Mrs. Carl Cooper of Amarillo, Texas. (this may have been a mistake. Should the obituary have used the word 'Great-granddaughter'?).¹
