Robert Isbell was born circa 1865 in Georgia. He was the son of Robert Isbell and Lucinda Tucker. He also went by the name of Bob and was known as Theodore Isbell's "Uncle Bob." He was a drifter that didn't seem to have much success with relationships or jobs. He moved often, staying with different family members. Effie Jane Isbell recalled one burdensome stay in her small home shortly after her and Theodore were married, which only served to boost her lowly opinion of his worth. Robert Isbell married Eliza (-?-). Robert Isbell died circa 1945 in Mangum, Greer Co., Oklahoma. He died of gangrene after he swallowed a piece of a corn husk during a meal (he had no feeling in his tongue). It apparently injured his digestive tract. He died several days later. He was buried in Wellington, Collingsworth Co., Texas.
